Netflix gave the Japanese series Alice in Borderland a quick renewal in late 2020 and it appears that the
Alice in the Frontier is a Netflix Original live-action adaptation of the manga of the same name by author Hara Aso. The series is directed by Shinsuke Sato and written by Yasuko Kuramitsu.

Just two weeks after Alice fell around the world in Borderland, Netflix gave the series a quick renewal (no less on Christmas Eve) as an early Christmas present. The announcement came from numerous Netflix social accounts around the world.

The series seems to be one of the rare shows that has been able to cross borders and penetrate other countries.
How well did Alice do in Borderland on Netflix?
According to Netflix, 18 million households checked out the first season within the first 28 days.
In addition, Top 10 tracking data As provided by FlixPatrol, the series has performed well in countries like Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Japan, and Hong Kong. The series spent several days in most of the regions outside of Asia, including Canada for 4 days.
The US didn’t see it Alice in the Frontier Function, however.
What to expect from Alice in the Frontier Season 2?
The first season covered roughly 31 chapters of the manga, leaving another 33 chapters.
The show’s hero, Arisu, had a tough hand during season one. Initially arriving with two of his friends, Korube and Chota, they eventually sacrificed themselves to make sure Arisu had the best chance of getting ahead.
The highlight of the season was the game of ten of hearts, in which the beach dwellers had to guess correctly who the “witch” was. After much fighting, many competitors were killed in the game’s confusion, but Arisu was able to correctly predict the witch’s identity and revealed that it was Momoka.
After Niragi burned the beach villa, the competitors placed the witch’s body on a campfire, ending the game.
Arisu and Usagi then discovered that Momoka and Asahi were not competitors but dealers. The dealer’s role was to sabotage games in exchange for Visa. Thanks to the evidence on Momoka’s phone, Arisu and Usagi were able to locate the underground control room, which they perceived to be the game masters had been killed.
In the final moments, a woman, Mira, appears on the screens revealing that the games have only just begun, inviting them all to compete in the next phase of the game. Upon returning to the surface, attendees witnessed airships flying over the city of Tokyo with maps hung underneath.
With many games to challenge, Arisu and Usagi still have a long way to go before they can escape. The couple will have to keep playing the games if they are hoped to solve the mystery of the world and who are the gamemasters who run them.
When is Alice in the Frontier Season 2 is coming to Netflix?
Fans of the series originally speculated on a 2021 release date, thanks to potential Easter eggs seen in the final moments of season one. When the airships flew overhead, there were several buildings with advertisements for 2021, although this is very unlikely (if not impossible) for the show to return in 2021.
Filming couldn’t start right away, of course, as COVID-19 is still wreaking havoc in Japan (just check out any coverage of the Olympics to find out more).
Filming began in mid-July, according to the production company’s website, the start a casting call for extras. According to its website, the series won’t finish filming for Season 2 until late December 2021.
They state that they will be filming Season 2 in the following locations:
“Kanto area, Toyama, Hyogo, Fukuoka, Aichi, Osaka, Wakayama, etc.”
