Veteran actor Dilip Kumar is currently on oxygen support and not in the ICU or on a ventilator, contrary to rumors, his doctor has said. Dilip Kumar was admitted to hospital in Khar Hinduja here on Sunday morning after complaining of shortness of breath. The latest update on the actor’s health has been given by both his family and Dr. Jalil Parkar, who is monitoring his condition.
His family has asked fans to “don’t believe in WhatsApp attackers”, saying Kumar would be fired in two to three days.
“Don’t believe in WhatsApp forwards. Saab is stable. Thank you for your sincere duas and prayers. According to the doctors, he should be home within 2-3 days. Insh’Allah,” read the latest post on Kumar’s Twitter handle.
Parkar told indianexpress.com that the actor had been diagnosed with bilateral pleural effusion and his condition is currently stable.
“He gets oxygen support, not in the ICU or on a ventilator. He’s stable,” Parkar said.
Dilip Kumar’s wife and former actor Saira Banu had confirmed to us earlier today that he had been admitted to the Hinduja hospital. Saira Banu told indianexpress.com: “After experiencing shortness of breath, we took Dilip Sahab to the hospital in Khar Road at 8:30 am. Doctors are treating him and we have done some tests, we are waiting for reports. Please pray for him that he is feeling better and that we can get him home soon.”
