The Netflix Original Documentaries TThe Investigator: A British Detective Story Netflix is expected to leave the US and several other regions where it is classified as an Original Series in August 2021.
The series, hosted by British journalist Mark Williams-Thomas, originally aired in 2016 compared to Make a murderer. The first season focused on the murders of various victims and his efforts to track down all evidence.
A total of 7 episodes were released in two seasons. The first season came to Netflix on August 19, 2018 and the second two years later on March 5, 2020.
Now three years after the series was first released on Netflix, it is being released in every Netflix region except Netflix in the UK. In the UK, the series hit Netflix a little later and will likely stay for a while, but not indefinitely.
Why is The Investigator: a British Crime Story leaving Netflix?
Although marked as Netflix Original, Netflix only has licensing rights to the title, even though they were exclusive. This happens more and more often when Netflix Originals goes out of service.
The rights to the series are actually owned by Syco Entertainment, which sold the show to ITV and the international rights to Netflix. This is the same production company that the to have talent Franchise and The x factor.
Netflix has many other titles in the genre to fill the void on The Investigator: A British Crime Story. The title of the heading to checkout would be Unexplained mysteries which has so far been published in two volumes. They also have some excellent documentaries like Sam’s sons, Crime scene: The disappearance at the Cecil Hotel and Wild wild country.
