Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said on Sunday that permission for film and TV shooting in Mumbai would be granted if the daily number of coronavirus cases in the city is brought under control.
In a virtual interaction with the representatives of the film and television industry, he called on them to cooperate with the government in the measures being taken to fight the pandemic. “After the second wave of COVID-19, film and TV shooting in the state was halted, but now the number of cases is under control and the unlocking process has also begun,” he said.
Thackeray said film and TV producers must follow all COVID-19 safety rules and take precautions during filming. “We need to make sure we don’t get knocked down by the virus,” he said.
Several prominent actors, anchors and others associated with the entertainment industry including Aadesh Bandekar, Nitin Vaidya, Prashant Damle, Bharat Jadhav, Subodh Bhave, Amol Kolhe, JD Mathijia, Amit Behl, Punit Goenka, Ajay Bhalvankar, Sangamon Shirke, Vijay Kenkre , Sharad Ponkshe, Siddharth Roy Kapur, participated in the meeting.
