The fourth (and rather disappointing) season of The seven deadly sins is now on Netflix worldwide. The fifth season called The Seven Deadly Sins: The Judgment of the Dragon has almost finished broadcasting in Japan and will appear on Netflix earlier than expected. We know that about season 5 of The seven deadly sins so far including what we can expect and whether the direction of animation has changed compared to the fourth series.
The seven deadly sins is a licensed Netflix Original Anime series based on the manga of the same name by the author Nakaba Suzuki. With over 37 million manga sold worldwide, the franchise has an extremely loyal fan base. The studio was previously animated by A-1 Pictures but has since moved to a new home with Studio Deen.
Just like season four, we’d like to point out that we’re listing this season as the fifth, as we’re following the way Netflix formatted the original. We understand that “season two” was a handful of OVA episodes.

When is The seven deadly sins Is season 5 coming to Netflix?
Our expectations were completely undermined when the fifth season of The Seven Deadly Sins hits Netflix Monday, June 28, 2021!
If you access the upcoming page in your Netflix app on your mobile phone, you will now find The Seven Deadly Sins Season 5 listed.
In the past, Netflix was notorious for its internationally licensed anime landing in the “Netflix Jail”. Coined by the anime community, this term refers to any Netflix-licensed anime that first airs in Japan, only to hit the streaming service a few months later. The seven deadly sins has fallen victim to the “Netflix Jail” in the past, bringing the release date forward further than expected, only shows that Netflix is starting to listen to the anime community.
What to expect from The seven deadly sins Season 5
There’s a lot to unzip as we get into the final season of The seven deadly sins.
In August 2020 it is was revealed that the new season would be titled “The Seven Deadly Sins: The Judgment of Wrath”.

Attached to the artwork, the news item offered the following summary for the next season:
“Meliodas, Elizabeth, Hawk, Dianne, Van, King, Gowther, Merlin and Escanor stand against the flames, a powerful enemy and an image that shows the members of the Seven Deadly Sins facing their fate.”
The fourth season of the anime ended with chapter 267 of the manga. The manga has a total of 346 chapters, leaving only 79 chapters for the anime.
There is still a lot to tell during this time.
As an immortal, Ban is the only member of the Seven Deadly Sins, besides Meliodas, who has a chance of surviving purgatory.
Ban is determined to find the real Melodias we all know and love and bring him to Brittonia. But time passes differently in purgatory, how many decades, centuries or millennia will pass before Ban finds the Meliodas?
Ban is already one of the strongest characters in the series, so he’s likely to get even stronger after spending so many years in purgatory.
In the meantime, a new alliance has formed in Britannia between the goddess clan, the fairy clan, the giant clan and the humans, who start a second holy war with the aim of defeating the demon clan once and for all.
Estarossa of the Demon Clan kidnapped Elizabeth, so it is up to the combined forces of the Stigma Alliance to stop him and save the princess.
The love command has a terrible past and soon everything will be revealed.
The resurrection of the new demon king?
The giant egg that contains the body of Meliodas continues to manifest, and when an even stronger and darker egg hatches, Meliodas will awaken. With the commandments he has absorbed, Meliodas will not be far from asserting himself as the new Demon King of the Demon Clan.
Will there be a sixth season of? The seven deadly sins?
As we briefly discussed above, there is very little source material left for the manga. With only 79 chapters left, the anime wouldn’t be expected to end in five seasons.
That being said, season four was only about 31 chapters of the manga, so we could definitely extend the anime to a sixth season in order to see the finale.
Fans don’t need to worry, there’s plenty of story, battles, and twists in the remaining 79 chapters of The seven deadly sinsso there is a lot to entertain.
We’re not giving away any spoilers here but a sequel manga is planned, aptly named The Seven Deadly Sins: The Four Knights of the Apocalypse. So a sixth season could focus on the new story written by Nakaba Suzuki.
The animation is improved for The seven deadly sins Season 5?
One of the most discussed topics of season four was the significant drop in animation quality.
It’s no secret that the production of The seven deadly sins was pulled away from A-1 images to Studio Deen. One of the lesser known facts was that Studio Deen outsourced the animation to South Korean animation studio Marvy Jack.
The results were far from impressive, and Very controversial.
The outcry from fans has been extremely strong, but Studio Deen has yet to comment on whether or not they will take on all of Season 5’s production.
Are you looking forward to the release of The seven deadly sins Season 5 on Netflix?
